This report provides county-level and statewide statistics on disposed criminal cases for the given fiscal year. The column CHARGE_TEXT will provide you with a description of a criminal offense. Similarly, the column ATTORNEY_ provides statistics by the type of defense counsel available in North Carolina:

1. A private court-appointed attorney;
2. A privately retained attorney,;
3. A full-time public defender;
4. Attorney type unknown; or
5. The defendant waived his or her right to counsel.

The following summary statistics are provided for each criminal offense and attorney type:

• Case type/level of court (criminal district court (CR), criminal superior court (CRS), and infractions (IF))
• Disposition type
• Timeframe to disposition
• Median number of days to disposition
