Governor Cooper Makes Judicial Appointments in District Court Districts 3B, 29A and 29B

Governor Roy Cooper has appointed district court judges in districts 3B, 29A and 29B.

Governor Roy Cooper has appointed district court judges in districts 3B, 29A and 29B.

  • Bob R. Cherry as district court judge in Judicial District 3B (Carteret, Craven, and Pamlico counties). He currently serves as assistant district attorney and will fill the vacancy of now Superior Court Judge Paul Quinn.

  • Ellen Shelley as district court judge in Judicial District 29A, (McDowell and Rutherford counties). She will fill the vacancy of Judge Laura Powell, who is now the District 29A public defender.

  • Kimberly Gasperson-Justice as district court judge in Judicial District 29B (Henderson, Polk, and Transylvania counties). She has served as the clerk of superior court in Henderson County since 2006 and will fill the vacancy of now Superior Court Judge Peter Knight.
