Chief Justice Martin Appoints Chief District Court Judges for Judicial Districts 4, 15A, and 17A

Judge Paul Hardison to Chief District Court Judge for Judicial District 4

Chief Justice Mark Martin has appointed Judge Paul A. Hardison as chief district court judge for Judicial District 4, effective January 1, 2015. Judge Hardison will replace Judge Leonard Thagard, who will retire at the end of the year.

District 4 includes Onslow, Duplin, Sampson, and Jones counties.

Judge Hardison has served as a district court judge since 1990. He graduated from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 1984.

Judge Bradley Allen to Chief District Court Judge for Judicial District 15A

Chief Justice Mark Martin has appointed Judge Bradley R. Allen Sr. as chief district court judge for Judicial District 15A (Alamance County), effective January 1, 2015. Judge Allen will replace Judge Jim Roberson, who will become a superior court judge.

Judge Allen has served Alamance County as a district court judge since 2000, and was previously an assistant district attorney from 1989 until being elected judge. He graduated from Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law (also known as Campbell Law School) in 1988.

Judge Tony Grogan to Chief District Court Judge for Judicial District 17A

Chief Justice Mark Martin has appointed Judge James A. "Tony" Grogan as chief district court judge for Judicial District 17A (Rockingham County), effective January 1, 2015. Judge Grogan will replace Judge Frederick Wilkins.

Judge Grogan has served Rockingham County as a district court judge since 2007, and was previously an assistant district attorney from 1995 until being elected judge. He graduated from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1994.
