Chief Justice Martin Appoints Judge Tom Jarrell to Chief District Court Judge for Judicial District 18

Chief Justice Mark Martin has appointed Judge Tom Jarrell as chief district court judge for Judicial District 18.

Chief Justice Mark Martin has appointed Judge Tom Jarrell as chief district court judge for Judicial District 18 (Guilford County), effective August 1. Judge Jarrell will succeed Judge Wendy Enochs upon her retirement.

"Judge Jarrell has served with distinction as district court judge," said Chief Justice Martin. "I am confident that under his leadership the district courts of Guilford County will continue to operate with efficiency and fairness to ensure the proper administration of justice in our courts."

Judge Jarrell (pictured right with Chief Justice Martin) has served Guilford County as a district court judge since 2000, and previously as an assistant district attorney from 1992 to 1995 and 1998 to 1999. He earned his juris doctor (J.D.) from Campbell University School of Law in 1991.
