The UNC Center for Excellence in Mental Health has honored the judges of District 15B for their commitment to improve mental health through education and advocacy. The awards were given at the Center's third annual fundraising "Life with No Limits" Gala at the UNC George Watts Hill Alumni Center on Thursday, Nov. 17.

"I join with those applauding these judges for their tireless efforts to make a difference in the lives of those affected by mental health issues," said Chief Justice Mark Martin, who co-chairs the Governor's Task Force on Mental Health and Substance Use.

The district court judges being honored include:

  • Chief District Court Judge Joseph Buckner
  • Judge Charles Anderson
  • Judge Beverly Scarlett
  • Judge Jay Bryan
  • Judge Lunsford Long
