Judge Archie assumed the role of senior resident superior court judge for the 26th Judicial District (Mecklenburg County) on September 1.

Visits include Alamance, Chatham, Durham, Guilford (2), and Orange counties

Former Chief Justice Billings served as a district court judge, associate justice, and the 22nd chief justice of the Supreme Court.

The Honorable Sandra E. Beaman, Greene County Clerk of Superior Court, has announced that she will retire on September 30, 2021.

The Task Force is co-chaired by AOC Director Judge Andrew Heath and Ben David, DA of New Hanover and Pender Counties.

Guests are Robin Colbert, Katie Monroe, and Emma Paul.

This legislation was one of the Commission’s priorities for the 2021 legislative session.  

He will be the first chief justice to visit all of North Carolina's courthouses from Murphy to Manteo.
