Chief Justice Cheri Beasley announced the following appointments effective Friday, January 1, 2021.

All criminal and civil district court proceedings, unless otherwise addressed, will be rescheduled for a later time.

Mecklenburg County will modify its court operations effective December 14, 2020. See the press release for full details.

District court sessions have also been canceled for Monday, December 14 and Tuesday, December 15.

The courthouse and clerk of superior court’s office is closed today (December 9) for cleaning, but will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on December 10.

All sessions of superior court will take place as scheduled. The courthouse and clerk of superior court’s office remain open.

The Supreme Court has amended rules affecting transcripts in the Rules of Appellate Procedure, and three rule sets affecting mediation.

The appointments were made in Judicial District 13 (Bladen, Brunswick and Columbus counties) and 20A (Stanly and Montgomery counties).

Children and their families will be recognized for their adoption on National Adoption Day on Saturday, November 21, at 10:00 a.m.
