Congratulations to our four Judicial Branch employees honored with the prestigious Caswell Award in recognition and appreciation for 45 or more years of dedicated, extended service to the State of North Carolina. The ceremony was held Tuesday, April 24, at the N.C. Museum of History in Raleigh.

The event honored 17 state employees including

• Betty Kelso
  Trial Court Coordinator, Gaston County
• Amelia Linn
  Assistant Clerk, Rowan County
• Christine Smoot
  Assistant Clerk, Cumberland County

The Richard Caswell Award Program is named after North Carolina's first governor, Richard Caswell, in 1776 – 1780 and 1784 – 1787, and who also served as clerk of court in Orange County, state controller, and state senator. The award program was established in 1998 and is administered by the N.C. Office of State Human Resource (OSHR).
