Chief Justice Cheri Beasley will visit court personnel and tour the temporary court facilities in Pender County on Monday, July 15. Chief Justice Beasley is visiting the county that was heavily impacted by Hurricane Florence in the fall of 2018.
In addition to Pender County, Jones County courts and offices are also operating from alternate locations due to damage from Hurricane Florence. While they are operational, Carteret, Craven, New Hanover and Onslow County courts continue to deal with various issues associated with damage caused by Florence including FEMA funding, repairs, file storage and workstation repairs.
Chief Justice Beasley recently extended an order for Jones County allowing the court to continue to operate from alternate locations while repairs to the courthouse continue.
