Length of Service
A trial juror's service is normally one week. However, jurors may be put on telephone standby for any time that week when they are not required to be present in the courthouse. The average length of service, if selected to serve as a juror in a trial, is two days.
Hours of Service
Typically, court will start at 9:30 a.m. and finish at 5:00 p.m. However, the schedule may change and jurors must be available for service as directed by the judge or the jury clerk.
A lunch break occurs from 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
When and Where to Report
Please follow the parking instructions carefully. Report to the place indicated on the summons which will be one of the following:
- The Main Courtroom in Burgaw
- The Court Room Annex located at the corner of Dickerson and Wilmington Street in downtown Burgaw
Jurors should arrive at the time indicated on indicated on their summons at which time they will be checked in by the jury coordinator.
