DRC 16-Hour Supplemental MSC Trainers and Trainer Guidelines

The following trainers provide the 16-hour supplemental training program for superior court mediator certification.

The following 16-hour supplemental mediator training courses are approved under 8(a)(1)(ii) of Rules for Mediated Settlement Conferences (MSC) and Other Settlement Procedures in Superior Court Civil Actions. This course is intended for applicants who are already family financial settlement (FFS) certified OR have completed the requirements for such certification OR have completed mediation training in another State and been advised by Commission staff that they need complete only a supplemental 16-Hour course on MSC program rules, N.C. Standards of Conduct, and an exam on those materials in lieu of a 40-hour course.

NOTE: As a Prerequisite for attending the 16-hour MSC training, all applicants who are NOT North Carolina Attorneys MUST complete a 6-hour course on North Carolina court structure, civil procedure, etc., required by Mediated Settlement Conference Rule 8(a)(2)(b)(1). The Commission has created MSC Prerequisite Course Confirmation form, for you to submit to the DRC staff once you complete the prerequisite training.
